• Madison, Summer 2023

“Participating in Onward this past summer was an amazing and transformative experience. I worked on software development at Greeneum, a sustainable energy technology company in Israel, which greatly contributed to my personal and educational growth. Living in Tel Aviv, I had the privilege of immersing myself in a dynamic culture while gaining invaluable insights about my surroundings. This experience was extremely rewarding and is something I will keep with me forever.”-Madison, Summer 2023

Gabby, Northern New Jersey Summer 2023

Hi! My name is Gabby, and I’m a rising Junior at Boston University studying health science. During
Summer 2023 through Destination Israel I worked at the Holland Center. This center is a daycare for young children with various developmental delays. It serves as a rehabilitation and therapy center and provides unique care catered to each child. I got to hang out with the kids and helped the staff in any capacity they needed!

    Yael, Baltimore Summer 2023

“Baltimore Onward Israel helped me grow both spiritually and professionally. I had the opportunity to tap into a new sense of Jewish identity, between going on Shabbatons and our day trip to Jerusalem, I felt evermore connected to Israel and Judaism. I also learned so much about Israeli work culture, and was challenged intellectually in the best ways. My internship was incredible because I made connections in my field I know I can rely on for years to come! I’m so thankful for this opportunity and if I could do it again I 100% would.”-Yael. Eitan, Summer 2023

“This summer I had the incredible opportunity to live and work in Israel as a part of the Cornell Onward program. I was employed at a company called Firefly Neuroscience, where my role involved creating code to analyze brain scans. My job was Hybrid, allowing me to strike an amazing balance between working in the office, where I had the chance to meet and connect with my coworkers, and exploring local cafes near my apartment to set up for the day. Getting to know Israel and its people was one of the most rewarding experiences of the summer. My absolute favorite memory was waking up at the crack of dawn to go to the beach at 6 in the morning to play volleyball with the Israelis before work. The people there were so open and welcoming that it was not hard to feel at home.”-Eitan, Class of 2025

    Lenny

“My name is Lenny, I am from NYC and I work in digital marketing. When I first heard about this program, I became very excited about it because I’ve never had an opportunity to explore Israel on my own. I wanted to go and learn the culture and find cool places I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.  This program provided just that. We had guided tours in Israel and meetings with leaders from the business community here. Most of all, I made lifelong friends on the trip. Even though participants came from all over the country and world, we all instantly became friends. We planned trips in Israel on our own and even helped each other with advice and mentorship. I highly recommend this experience to anyone considering it.”

Trini K, Croatia, University College London 2021, interned at Green Productions

“Hey, I’m Trini! I’m from from Croatia, and I participated in Onward Israel’s Tel Aviv Advance Pro program during Summer 2022. I interned at Green Production, a company that focuses on production of films and TV series.

I have to say that I had an amazing experience! It was very insightful, I got connected with a lot of people in the industry and I was able to create a very meaningful relationship with my boss. In terms of the remote portion, it really helped me to set up into work mode before I arrived in Israel. I highly recommend it as an entrance into the professional environment and whatever field of interest you would like to pursue in your life. I highly recommend Onward Israel, and the staff is great so you will be in very good hands!”-Trini, Advance Pro, Summer 2022

“I chose Tel Aviv Advance because living out of state in Michigan, I want to spend time with my family in the Winters and Summers. Having the remote portion at home allowed me to spend time with family and get six weeks in Israel and another month back home before school starts.”

    Samantha B. – Marketing, Business & Technology Summer 2022

“The most unique part of my summer was the atmosphere and studio in which I worked. There was always something exciting and post-worthy occurring, and I made sure to have a camera near me at all times to capture the moment. It was truly something special to learn about the ins and outs of sustainable and ethical fashion, while also making amazing memories!”
