• Aish UK Jerusalem Fellowship 2024

    Embark on an extraordinary 5-week summer journey with Aish UK, with the famed Jerusalem Fellowship internship programme. Partnering with esteemed providers like FJL and Jewish Futures Israel, this internship offers a transformative experience in the heart of Jerusalem. Elevate your CV, engage with leaders of Jewish thought, and explore Israel in new ways. Kick off with a weekend trip packed with exploration, extreme activities, and insights into Jewish wisdom, followed by a four-week internship and a further week of additional travel activities, programming, and discussions where you will be able to tour Israel like never before.

    During the trip, participants will take part in a four-week internship at top Israeli and multinational firms based in Jerusalem and surrounding areas and build their resumes. Participants will work in a suitable bespoke internship opportunity while gaining a prestigious experience to aid future job applications.

    Aside from the internship component, participants will have the opportunity to spend a week in one of the premier Jewish learning institutions in the world. Situated opposite the Western Wall, the Aish Hatorah World Center is host to world-renowned educators and presenters in the world of Jewish education. From on-site meditation facilities to rooftop lookouts, and a private cinema, the World Center is a dream location from which to explore areas of Judaism and Israel that you have never had before. 

    Through these opportunities, as well as additional guest speakers, participants are offered a phenomenal opportunity to explore and delve into their heritage and address the big questions Jews face in the modern world. Together with a dynamic team and like-minded peers, they will forge new, meaningful and longstanding relationships. A full summer of leadership opportunities and personal growth on the backdrop of the scenic and historic sites of the Modern State of Israel.

    This Birthright Israel Onward program is operated through the philanthropic support of leading North American Foundations through the Birthright Israel Foundation, the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency, along with Jewish Futures Israel. It is organized by Aish UK and Jewish Futures Israel.     Important Information

    Dates: June 26th – July 30st 2024
    Pre-programme compulsory Jerusalem Fellowship program dates Jan 2024 – May 2024

    Participants MUST be available to participate for the entire length of the program.

    Program Cost:  £1,500*
    Membership discount: £400

    This is a subsidized price and includes accommodation in Jerusalem, Shabbat programmes, and activities.
    We encourage all participants to participate in Aish on Campus Aish Coins rewards.

    In addition, participants will be required to submit a 1,500 NIS (shekels) security deposit in cash upon arrival at the hotel apartment. This security deposit will be refunded at the end of the program pending good standing. 

    *The actual cost of the programme is circa £4,000 but all applicants will receive the subsidized price if they are eligible. Aish UK is committed to providing access to those with leadership potential regardless of background and therefore further need-based scholarships are available upon request.

    The program cost includes housing, educational programming, program staff, basic medical insurance, and ground transportation within the city of residence.

    Participants are responsible for the cost of flights, food, and phone coverage. To learn about this and other Onward program details, please visit our FAQ.

    * Participants are advised to purchase flights with a good refund policy or flight insurance. Birthright Israel Onward is not responsible for the cost of flights should the programme be canceled.

    * Programme costs are in Israeli Shekels and based on a US$/Shekel exchange rate of 3.8 (UK 4.6)

    Accommodations: Apartments are in central Jerusalem near the Machane Yehuda Shuk and adjacent to the train line.

    The number of participants to an apartment or room is dependent on the size of the accommodations and number of participants on the programme.

    Acceptance Criteria

    • Fluent in English
    • Applications are open to UK-based to Jewish University students who are currently studying at undergraduate or first-year post-graduate (not-mature students) at University. Priority and extra scholarship are given based on current involvement in our Campus programs, and Aish UK’s membership system.
    • Applicants between 18-23 years old and not currently enrolled in high school
    • Must be Jewish (please refer to our FAQ for more information)
    • Applicants must NOT have spent 3 or more consecutive months in Israel after high school or participated in an Onward program or any other mid-term or long-term educational program in Israel.
    • Have a valid Passport for at least 6 months after the program end date

    Please note: If you wish to participate in a 10-day Birthright Israel trip, consider doing so prior to an Onward program. You will not be able to participate on Birthright Israel trip after participating on Onward.
