“I’m interning at Pico Kids Makerspace! It’s a super fun, creative environment that provides equipment, instruction, and resources to kids of all ages to come in and design for change. Everyday I get tasked with a new design/maker objective and it challenges me to think on the spot to problem solve. I love the freedom they give to me to solve problems on my own. I get to operate all the fancy shop equipment and be the technical expert for 3D printing, laser cutting, and other prototyping methods. Designing here at Pico has pushed me to work quickly and it’s amazing to see my work being used as part of the courses for the kids. Working with the kids is always a laugh and inspiring at the same time. All the other employees have made me feel as though I’m one of the original team.”
