“When I reached the Knesset to cover my first story – a concert celebrating Israel’s 70th year of independence – I thought I was in over my head. The show was only in Hebrew (which I don’t speak, yet), security was tight and this was my FIRST STORY. It had to be good. But instead of being worried, I was undeterred. I asked people to translate for me; spoke to actors, tour guides, locals and families; and wiped tears of happiness from my face as I enjoyed doing what I love: reporting. Since then, I’ve covered BDS, Virtual Reality, the World Cup and more, and I am filling in as Arts & Entertainment editor while the real editor is away (meaning I have my own office!). I never want to leave Israel, I’ve had so much fun here learning and getting the international journalism experience I’ve always dreamed about.”
