Rebecca R. – Science & Health Tech, Summer 2019

I loved living in Rehovot, because I felt I got an “authentic” Israel experience. I discovered a lot of hidden gems, such as little hole-in the wall restaurants, places to read a book, and more. My favorite place to go to at night during the weekend in Rehovot was Herzl street. There were so many great restaurants and cafes to sit at, people watch, and enjoy the night. Other participants and I would try a new place out every few days and it was a lot of fun. It’s definitely a good place to practice Hebrew too! I would say “hello” to the bus driver, order my meal in Hebrew, admire dogs as they walked by, etc. Everyone I met living in Rehovot was incredibly friendly and it was just fun to get out of my comfort zone and talk to people. I had an incredible time participating in Onward this past summer!
