Eliana S. – Arts & Culture, Summer 2018

“I had the privilege of working at the Jerusalem Post as a reporter intern through Onward Israel Experience this summer, where I was able to pitch and report on stories ranging from science to arts to politics and everything in between. The highlight of my summer was definitely this past week, when I got the scoop on an exclusive story that ended up on page one in the print edition (not to mention, it was also featured on the JPost homepage all day)! The story was about the upcoming World Chess tournament, to be hosted in Tunisia—a country that denies entry to Israelis, which would, therefore, disqualify a seven-year-old Israeli chess champion from competing. It was such an exciting moment for me and I am so grateful that I was respected as a real reporter and given so many amazing opportunities through this internship.”
