Live, work, and play on the Mediterranean! The Onward Israel Winter Internship program in the bustling start-up city of Tel Aviv offers you the opportunity to develop your professional future and build your resume through a high-level internship experience for 8 weeks.

Please note, there is a chance that Israel will enforce a mandatory 2 week quarantine period for new arrivals. If this is the case, the program will still take place, but the first 2 weeks will be “remote” while under quarantine in the apartments. For more information, visit our FAQ responding to COVID-19.

During this Tel Aviv-based internship program, you are placed in a work environment based on your skills, interests and future plans. You will intern four to five days a week, and immerse yourself in contemporary Israeli society through Israel touring days*, group activities, Shabbatons and more.  These program days will include visits to local NGOs and explorations of contemporary Israeli culture, environment, and politics.

*If this becomes a remote program, these enhancements will still take place, but remotely over Zoom instead of in person

Masa-eligible participants in programs which are part of the Onward/Masa partnership may qualify for additional scholarships. For more information, call Onward Israel or your local partner professional.

Apartments or dorm-style housing in Tel Aviv.

The number of participants to an apartment or room is dependent on the size of the accommodations and number of participants on the program.  While meeting common standards, Onward Israel housing differs by program and even within a program. To learn more about this and other Onward Israel housing details, please visit our housing FAQ.

    Program Cost
The program cost includes housing, medical insurance, modest food stipend, and Rav Kav (bus pass to get around Tel Aviv). All participants are responsible for the cost and arrangement of their own flights. Participants will be required to submit a $250 security deposit in cash upon arrival in Israel. Deposits will be refunded at the end of the program pending good standing. You should not purchase your flights until a decision has been made about the viability of the program.

*If this becomes a remote program, the program cost will change to reflect this shift in expenses. The program cost will then be $100.

The actual cost of the Onward Israel program is much higher, and is subsidized up to 70% by Onward Israel private donors, and local Jewish communities and institutions.
