Tel Aviv Advance Summer Internship Track 2 (formerly Bay Area Advance)
Do you enjoy the flexibility that remote work provides? Do you want to spend your summer soaking up all that Israel has to offer? Why not have both? The Tel Aviv Advance Summer Internship Track 2 program is designed for you to have the best of both worlds - spend six weeks living, working and thriving in Israel and then continue to build your professional skills by pursuing the remainder of your internship remotely for the next four weeks!
Tel Aviv Advance Summer Internship program offers you the opportunity to build your resume through a high-level Israeli internship, immerse yourself in Israeli culture, and intern remotely from anywhere in the world!
While in Israel, you will intern four to five days a week alongside Israeli peers and immerse yourself in contemporary Israeli society. You’ll experience Israel through Onward Israel’s exclusive day trips, overnights and seminars. In your free time, explore Israel’s amazing restaurants, beaches, and nightlife with a cohort of other young adults. We provide the platform for you to explore and think about the ways you can integrate, contribute and make your experience as fulfilling as possible while in Israel.
During the Remote portion, you will keep working with your employer, compile a final project, and continue your connection with your cohort through distance learning and activities. You’ll have the flexibility to end your summer adventure from home, school, or wherever you want all the while gaining critical skills of how to best work remotely.
This Onward Israel program is operated through a partnership between the Beacon and Shapira Foundations and other leading philanthropists. Beginning in 2022, Onward Israel will merge with Birthright Israel and will operate as a division within Birthright Israel. It is organized by Sachlav.
If for public health or security related reasons the program cannot take place in Israel, Onward Israel will make efforts to conduct the program remotely. Please note, if this happens, it will affect the types of internships available. Participants who do not wish to participate on an entirely remote program will be permitted to withdraw and receive a full refund for their program fee, within a week of the decision for the program to be conducted remotely. If a program is cancelled completely due to health or safety conditions in Israel, participants will receive a full refund of their program fee.
Before applying, please ensure you read our COVID-19 Response to understand current entry requirements and other important information. Please be aware as you review our COVID-19 Response page that your program is considered a non-MASA program.
Note, there is a chance that health/safety conditions will require us to implement a quarantine period upon arrival in Israel for some or all participants. There is also a chance that the program will shift to entirely remote if travel is further restricted. For more information, visit our FAQ responding to COVID-19 and our webpage.
Admission is rolling. Applications will close in April or earlier if the program fills.

Participants will be paired with an Israeli company or organization and assigned work projects to complete over the course of the program. It is expected that participants complete their work projects during the designated dates of the program and fully participate in all required enrichment and education activities. Note that there would be a shift in the type of work conducted after transitioning from in person to remote work.
