Onward Israel MDA Winter Program
Working on ambulances as a team member, using your skills (from home as well as from our course). Onward Israel MDA is a professional, hands-on lifesaving program where you will work in the field along with MDA medics & paramedics to experience real life situations.
“Onward Israel MDA is designed for those who are already involved in the medical field and are interested in continuing their education through a practical lens. The program will start in Jerusalem with an Advanced Magen David Adom First Responder course.
For the 5 weeks following the course, you will be volunteering (either in Haifa or Be’er Sheva) as an active team member on both the MICU & BLS MDA ambulances. We have also organized educational trips during the program where we will introduce you to the forefront of Israeli emergency medical innovation’’.
This Onward Israel MDA program is operated through a partnership between Israel Experience and Magen David Adom and is organized by Israel Experience.
December 17 th , 2019 – January 30th , 2020
You MUST be available to participate for the entire program duration.
$1040 ($50 registration fee + $990 program fee)
All participants are responsible for cost of and arranging their own flights.
The program fee includes the MDA course in Jerusalem, housing, insurance, modest food stipend, ground transportation, educational trips and staff support.
During the course in Jerusalem, participants will be provided with accommodations as well as 3 meals a day.
Participants will be required to sign a $250 credit card authorization as a participation and security deposit on arrival to the program.
The actual cost of the Onward Israel program is much higher and is subsidized up to 70% by Onward Israel and Magen David Adom.
Admission is rolling. Applications will close on November 26th, 2019 or earlier if the program fills.
This program is open to young adults from around the world who are currently involved, studying or working in the medical field (medics, paramedics, nurses, medical students etc.)
– Who have NOT spent 3 or more months in Israel as part of an educational or peer-program (this includes semester abroad, gap year or any other MASA or Onward Israel program)
– Between 19-27 years old- Fluent in English
– Basic Hebrew knowledge (you will be tested on this during your interview)
– Up to date vaccinations
During your internship period in each city (Haifa or Be’er Sheva) you will live in apartments shared with other Onward Israel MDA participants. Please note, you will be able to choose which city you prefer in your application, however spaces in each city are limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
The number of participants to an apartment or room is dependent on the size of the accommodations and number of participants on the program.
