• New York Hybrid Summer Internship

Interested in having an unforgettable immersion experience in Israel? Are you looking for a hands-on internship with flexibility? Why not have both! Come join other Jewish young adults from universities and campuses across the five NY boroughs for a 10-week immersive internship program! Onward Israel Hybrid programs offer the best of both worlds: in your first six-weeks you’ll experience all that Israel has to offer while living and working in Tel Aviv, and the last four-weeks working with your employer remotely from the comfort of your own "home".

The Onward Israel Hybrid program in Tel Aviv offers you the opportunity to develop your professional future, build your resume through a high-level internship, and the ability to build upon the connections from your next destination.

While in Israel, you will intern four to five days a week alongside Israeli peers and immerse yourself in contemporary Israeli society. You’ll experience Israel through Onward Israel’s exclusive day trips, overnights and seminars. In your free time, explore Israel’s amazing restaurants, beaches, and nightlife with a cohort of other young adults from the five boroughs of New York. We provide the platform for you to explore and think about the ways you can integrate, contribute and make your experience as fulfilling as possible while in Israel.

During the Remote portion, you will keep working with your employer, compile a final project, and continue your connection with your cohort through distance learning and activities. You’ll have the flexibility to end your summer adventure from home, school, or wherever you are returning and gain critical skills of how to best work remotely.

This Onward Israel program is operated through a partnership between the Beacon and Shapira Foundations and other leading philanthropists. It is organized by Young Judaea.

Tel Aviv portion: Wednesday, June 16 – Tuesday, July 27, 2021

Remote portion: Sunday, August 1 – Thursday, August 26, 2021

You MUST be available to participate for the entire length of the program.

Note, there is a chance that health/safety conditions will require us to implement 2-week quarantine upon arrival in Israel. There is also a chance that the program will shift to entirely remote if travel is restricted past 2 week quarantine upon arrival. For more information, visit our FAQ responding to COVID-19

    Program Cost:

The program cost includes housing, medical insurance, a modest food stipend, and ground transportation.

Participants will be required to submit a $200 security deposit in cash or check upon arrival in Israel. Deposits will be refunded at the end of the program pending good standing.

All participants are responsible for the cost and arrangement of their own flights.  Participants should not purchase your flights until a decision has been made about the viability of the program.

If health and safety conditions in Israel do not allow for the program to take place on the ground in Israel, the program will shift to being entirely remote. The decision will be made in April 2021. Please note, if this happens, it will affect the types of internships available. Participants who do not wish to participate on an entirely remote program will be permitted to withdraw and receive a full refund for their program fee.

Additional scholarships are available on a limited basis for those who require financial assistance. For more information, please contact Eliana Rohrig or your local partner professional.

*If this becomes an entirely remote program, the program cost will change to reflect this shift in expenses. The program cost will be $150 and the difference will be refunded.
