• Rutgers jInternship

Interns can build their resumes through personalized, high-level internships in the field of their choice. Join other university students from Rutgers during an 8-week immersive experience living, working and traveling in modern day Israel.

Develop your professional future and build your resume through a high-level, Jerusalem-based internship in the field of your choice. This tailor-made internship program places you in a workplace based on your skills, interests and future plans. The first two weeks of the program will include touring, group discussions and classes on Israel and Judaism. Then it’s into internships! Each week during the internship phase will include two evenings a week of group programming, where you keep up the Rutgers bonding while learning personal development techniques based on Jewish values. Weekends are divided between free time and integrating into various Israeli communities.

jInternship programs embrace the desire to plug-in Jewishly and offer you a program with relevant and empowering classes on Judaism at a level that makes sense for you from an Orthodox perspective.

    Acceptance Criteria

Open to students attending Rutgers University, with preference given to underclassmen. Ideally for students who have had one previous short-term Israel experience – such as Birthright Israel or a teen travel program.

Masa-eligible participants in programs which are part of the Onward/Masa partnership may qualify for additional scholarships. For more information, call Onward Israel or your local partner professional.

Participants on Onward Israel – Masa programs may return to Israel on long-term Masa programs after Onward Israel. They may also be eligible for additional scholarships from Masa to help fund their participation, although the size of that scholarship may be influenced by prior participation on Onward Israel. For details, please contact Masa Israel Journey directly at masainfo@masaisrael.org.

The Rutgers Onward Israel program is based in Jerusalem. You will be living in apartments in a lovely, central neighborhood called Nachlaot. Each apartment has multiple bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities.

The number of participants to an apartment or room is dependent on the size of the accommodations and number of participants on the program. While meeting common standards, Onward Israel housing differs by program and even within a program. To learn more about this and other Onward Israel housing details, please visit our housing FAQ.
