• Career Passport for Jewish Federation Professionals

    The program was developed by Onward Israel in partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America, and will provide Jewish federation professionals with a unique seminar experience in Israel that will educate and empower them in their work around Israel engagement.

    Work and live like a local in Tel Aviv and encounter Israeli life in all its beauty and complexity alongside a community of other federation professionals from North America.

    If the program is canceled due to health and safety conditions in Israel, participants will be able to receive a full refund of their program fee.

    This Onward Israel program is operated through a partnership between the Jewish Federations of North America and Onward Israel.

    Important Information

    December 22, 2021- January 23, 2022
    You MUST be available to participate for the entire length of the program.

    Program Cost
    $500
    The program fee includes housing in central Tel Aviv, shared work space, weekly tours in Israel, enrichment programming and networking opportunities, basic medical insurance, and ground transportation within Tel Aviv. Participants will be required to submit a $300 security deposit in cash upon arrival in Israel. Deposits will be refunded at the end of the program based on good standing.

    All participants are responsible for the cost of and arrangement of their own air fare in addition to food. Participants should not purchase air fare until they have been informed that the program will proceed on the scheduled dates.

    The actual cost of the Onward Israel program is significantly more expensive than the program fee to be paid by the participant. Onward Israel subsidizes up to 70% of the program costs. The program subsidy is made possible by generous partners like the Jewish Federations of North America, private donors, and local Jewish communities / institutions working in partnership with Onward Israel.

    Acceptance Criteria

    ~Federation professionals, who have been employed at their federation for at least 18 months
    ~Jewish young adults between 22-35 years old
    ~Those who have NOT previously participated in any Onward Israel program or any organized program in Israel of at least of 3 month’s duration
    ~Applicants must be employed by a federation that is willing to allow them to go to Israel for the duration of the program. Federation professionals applying to the program should only submit their application after they have met any internal approval processes
    *Exceptions to these eligibility requirements may be made for a small number of applicants.

    Accommodations
    Participants will have their own bedroom. The program will provide housing accommodations in central Tel Aviv in either a hotel or in shared apartments.
