• Bat Yam Hybrid Summer Program

If you are interested in participating in one of our programs during the summer 2021 season, please visit www.onwardisrael.org/prereg

Start your summer off by living in Bat Yam and exploring Israel's cities, beaches, and nightlife, all the while building your resume with a high-level internship in your field of interest. Then take your new found connections and skills back across the pond and continue to intern remotely from your home-base for the second part of your summer.

The Onward Israel Hybrid program in Bat Yam offers you the opportunity to develop your professional future and build your resume through a high-level internship experience and the ability to build upon and/or continue the connection from home.

While in Israel, you will intern four to five days a week alongside Israeli peers and immerse yourself in contemporary Israeli society. Experience Israel through Onward Israel’s exclusive day trips, overnights and seminars. In your free time, explore Israel’s amazing restaurants, beaches, and nightlife with a cohort of other young adults.

During the Remote portion, you will keep working with your employer and begin working on a final project, you will continue your connection with your cohort through distance learning and activities. You’ll have the flexibility to end your summer adventure from home, school, or wherever you are returning and gain valuable skills in how best to work remotely.

This Onward Israel program is operated through a partnership between the Beacon and Shapira Foundations and other leading philanthropists. It is organized by Israel Experience.

    Program Cost

The program cost includes housing, basic medical insurance, a modest food stipend, and ground transportation. Participants will be required to submit a $100 security deposit in cash upon arrival in Israel or in advance via credit card. Deposits will be refunded at the end of the program pending good standing.

All participants are responsible for the cost of and arrangement of their own flights.  Flight should not be purchased until a decision has been made about the viability of the program.

If health and safety conditions in Israel do not allow for the program to take place on the ground in Israel, the program will shift to being entirely remote. The decision will be made in April 2021. Please note, if this happens, it will affect the types of internships available. Participants who do not wish to participate on an entirely remote program will be permitted to withdraw and receive a full refund for their program fee.

*If this becomes an entirely remote program, the program cost will change to reflect this shift in expenses. The program cost will be $150 and the difference will be refunded.

Remote Internship Opportunities: Participants will be paired with an Israeli company or organization and assigned work projects to complete over the course of the program. It is expected that participants complete their work projects during the designated dates of the program and fully participate in all required enrichment and education activities.
