    Immerse yourself in Israel’s rich arts and culture scene with a summer internship in Jerusalem. Participants will be matched with internships that fuel their creative passions and offer real world experience working in unique fields.

    Onward Israel Theme-based programs are designed for applicants with a specific interest in working and exploring Israel through a topical lens. Intern four to five days a week alongside Israeli peers and immerse yourself in contemporary Israeli society.  Experience Israel through Onward Israel’s exclusive day trips, overnights and seminars.  In your free time, explore Jerusalem’s amazing nightlife, culture, and rich history with a cohort of other young adults. 

    Preference will be given to applicants who are not eligible for a community or national partner based Onward Israel program.

    Important Information

    Admission is rolling. Applications will close on March 15, 2019 or earlier if the program fills. 

    Dates
    June 12, 2019 – August 6, 2019

    You MUST be available to participate for the entire length of the program.

    Cost
    $400

    The program cost includes housing, medical insurance, modest food stipend, and ground transportation.

    All participants are responsible for cost of and arranging their own flights.

    Participants will be required to sign a $250 credit card authorization as a participation and security deposit prior to arriving in Israel.

    The actual cost of the Onward Israel program is much higher, and is subsidized up to 70% by Onward Israel, private donors, and local Jewish communities and institutions.

    This Onward Israel program is operated through a partnership between the Beacon and Shapira Foundations and other leading philanthropists, and Masa Israel Journey. It is organized by Israel Experience.

    Acceptance Criteria

    -Applicants between 19-27 years old (or at least one full year post-high school at the start of the program)

    -Who have NOT spent 3 or more months in Israel as part of an educational or peer-program (this includes semester abroad, gap year or any other MASA or Onward Israel program)

    -Fluent in English

    -Previous participation in Taglit-Birthright Israel is encouraged but not required

    Masa-eligible participants in programs which are part of the Onward/Masa partnership may qualify for additional scholarships. For more information, call Onward Israel or your local partner professional.

    Participants on Onward Israel programs that are run in partnership with Masa may return to Israel on long-term Masa programs after Onward Israel although the size of any potential scholarship may be influenced by prior participation on Onward Israel.     Accommodations
    Apartment or dorm-style housing in Jerusalem. The number of participants to an apartment or room is dependent on the size of the accommodations and number of participants on the program.
