Summer 2024 applications are open!

Select Jewish Federations and organizations offer Birthright Israel Onward programs for participants whose families live in their catchment areas or who study at local Universities. To find the program that’s right for you, use the PROGRAM FINDER to determine your eligibility.

Please note: If you apply for a Theme Based program while the community program you are eligible for is still accepting applications, your Theme Based program application will not be considered. If you are unable to attend the full dates of your community program, we may approve your Theme Based application on a case by case basis.

You’re sitting in a funky Tel Aviv cafe with an iced coffee in your hand and a smile on your face. It’s been a crazy day at the office. You’re two weeks into an eight-week internship, and you’ve made new friends, learned new skills, and your conversational Hebrew isn’t too shabby! This could be you: Onward Israel Los Angeles is your chance to travel to Israel with a group of new friends from LA and gain valuable professional experience while exploring contemporary Israel.

Come work, study and explore Israel while living in Jerusalem. The Onward Israel ASCEND program is designed for students who want to combine an internship with Torah learning and religious growth. The vibrant evening programs offer a full array of teachers, social events, and learning opportunities. This program will also give participants an opportunity to explore Israel through different trips and cultural experiences. At the end of the summer participants will not only have a better love and appreciation for both their Judaism and the land of Israel, but they will be able to build their resume and benefit from the many professional development opportunities.

The OU-JLIC summer in Jerusalem program at Midreshet Harova is an amazing opportunity for college students to live, learn and work in Jerusalem. Join us as we create an exciting social and religious summer community in Jerusalem! Come intern during the day and learn Torah at night. Be a part of our beit midrash program at the Midreshet Harova campus. This program is designed for students who want to combine their internship with high-level serious Torah learning.

Pittsburgh Onward Israel helps young adults earn that extra edge and gain international work experience while living in the city of Tel Aviv. Participants will be matched with internships in their field of interest that will grow them professionally and personally. While living in Tel Aviv, participants will continue to explore Judaism and Israel through various programs provided by the Pittsburgh community and Onward Israel.
